About Sill to Supper
Edible apartment living, without the homestead fantasy.
Sill to Supper is a focused field guide for renters who want to grow culinary herbs in limited space and use the harvest in a small kitchen.
One continuous job
The site follows three connected problems: creating usable light for indoor herbs, keeping containers watered while away, and drying or storing a modest harvest. We do not mix unrelated kitchen gadgets into a gardening site.
Built for constraints
Every guide considers the rental: limited drilling, shared living space, no outdoor faucet, leak exposure, reversible furniture, and the permanent cost of storing an appliance.
Honest about evidence
The first edition is research-based. It uses primary public guidance and shows selection criteria, but does not pretend that reading specifications is hands-on testing. When original tests are added, the method and date will be stated.
Intentionally excluded
We do not cover balcony structural modifications, electrical work, pesticide advice, medical or pet-toxicity claims, canning, fermentation, meat dehydration, or uncertain plant identification.
